Metropolitan District Board
A tax saving arrangement. Most communities have a Homeowners Association that is responsible for the maintenance of all common property which is funded through HOA dues. The Timbers Estates, however, is managed by a Metropolitan District, a quasi-municipal corporation whose sole responsibility is the ownership and maintenance of all common property. The Metropolitan District is made up of the residents of the Timbers and is managed by a Board of Directors which consists of 5 residents which are elected by the home owners. The operating capital of the Metropolitan District is funded by an additional mill levy assessed by the county on behalf of the residents and is paid as part of the Jefferson County property tax.
As a result, some of the community maintenance costs are tax deductible.
Timbers HOA
The purpose of the Timbers HOA is to promote the health, safety, and welfare of all members of the Timbers Estates Homeowners Association and to establish, provide and maintain a desirable community and environment for all owners and guests.
